MOONSTONE GEM QUEST
As mercy must temper justice, the first phase of the Moonstone quest will involve performing merciful acts. You will gain points toward the Moonstone by completing quests that aid others.
Among these quests are those that cure the ill, reunite lost people, return lost items, protect and guide people places, feed the hungry. Some of the special quests which encompass these things will be activated to help you accrue points.
What you won't receive points for are quests whose only purpose is to enrich you (shilling quest, safe quest) or involve revenge (I hate X, bring me his body). Generally any quest where a body is handed over will not be counted. Because there is no way to filter these out automatically, points accrued for these quests will be manually deleted.
You can see your standings by using the DEITYLEAGUE command.
Quests where you reveal betrayal and the CCC sends his muscle after the malefactor will be counted.
When that phase is over, points will be awarded to those placing in the top slots. Most likely by dividing a person's total points by ten or one hundred thousand so that points gained in the next phase will have some relevance. (Rather than assigning 100 pts for 1st place and 50 for 2nd, this provides value to the 1st place winner's effort if he/she did 100,000 pts of quests and the 2nd place person only did 25,000)
Second Phase will involve combat. However, there won't be as much blood as originally promised.
The second phase will involve an Egg Melee. Nothing feels more just than hunting down the guy who egged you and all your friends and pelting the hell out of him with eggs.
Points from both phases will be combined to determine our winner.
As is customary, Proteus will be available at the Meeting Place by at least 7:30 to answer questions and discuss rules. The goal, as always, is to start on time at 8:00 so be prepared.
