Divine globe related goals/command-orders.

[FOR THE TIME BEING THE CONTENTS OF HELP GLOBEGOAL IS AN INDICATION OF WHAT IS GOING TO BE SWITCHED ON BUT, CURRENTLY, TO ALLOW PEOPLE TIME TO ASSIMILATE OTHER ASPECTS (MELEE, ACTIVE DEPLOYMENTS, etc) THESE ARE SWITCHED OFF]


The legions associated with a city do not benefit from the broader range

of specialist-skills available to those associated with the various guilds

of the land, but instead mitigate this loss somewhat by the ability to

interact closely with the city's divine globe. There are globe actions

relating to warfare documented in HELP GLOBEACTIONS - specifially

affecting the morale of legions, the sanctity of homesoil - and ideals

satisfied by city legion successes/failures and events taking place

on homesoil and, to a lesser extent, within homeland sphere of influence. The

file HELP GLOBEIDEALS documents these. Additionally, however, there are

some goals/command-orders relating to legion use of the divine globe actions

and globestaves in its possession. Legions may use globestaves just as

individuals can and, by dint of their numbers and thus importance to the

city's divine globe, their use of the globestaves can be more efficient than

their player counterparts.


Syntax: ... GLOBEACTION <globe action> from HELP GLOBEACTIONS.

Employing the 'globechanneling' specialist skill which determins the

legions' affinity with the divine globe of its parent city, this

goal/command-order allows the legion to call into being a globe power as

listed in HELP GLOBEACTIONS in precisely the same way as

player-commander might do so. The cost in globe power and the pace of

action/recovery from reaction is primarily determined by

'globechanneling' potency but also impacted by legion size, distance

from the divine globe's altar, and recent history of successes and

failures in the field.


Syntax: ... GLOBESTAVE/GS FIX/UNFIX [<globestave>/WEAKEST/STRONGEST]

Here you may command your legion to fix or unfix a globestave labelled

as loyal to its banner - when fixed in a location its broader powers can

be called into being, when unfixed it is removed safely into the

vanguard stores of the legions; out of sight and mostly out of harm's

way. The 'globestavepower' specialist-skill is used here to determine

the pace and efficacy of the fixing/unfixing.


Syntax: ... GLOBESTAVE EMPOWER [<globesave>/WEAKEST/STRONGEST>]

Using the 'globestavepower' and 'globechanneling' specialist-skills to,

in part, dictate the speed and potency of the empowerment, this goal

brings forth might from the divine globe and absorbs it into the orb of

the globestaves; ready for execution of globestave commands. Distance

from the parent city's divine globe is also a major factor in the speed

of successful empowerment and such circumstances as being deep

underground or on a battlefield whose ground is of another continent may

ruin an empowerment altogether.


Syntax: ... GLOBESTAVE/GS <power> from HELP GLOBESTAVES.

Using the 'globestavepower' and 'globechanneling' specialist-skills in

tandem to determine an overall potency with the globestaves and

divine-globe of the legion's parent city, this goal/command-order is

used to evoke (generally via a fixed globestave) a stave power, as

documented in HELP GLOBESTAVES. The strength, pace and general

effectiveness of the power called upon is determined by the power

invested in the globestave's orb coupled with the 'globestavepower' and

'globechanneling' specialist-skills. It is worthwhile learning the

subtleties of the various globestave powers and experimenting on a

personal level to become familiar with the possible outcome of legion

use.
