Dramatics is a basic Bardic ability to use movements and acting to conjure enchantment and affect your surroundings. Dramatics only work while you are visible, on targets who are able to see your efforts. Darkness obscures dramatic effect. Dramatics include, at later levels, hypnotism, trancing, and are often used to supplement or prepare the Music and Songs skills. Many dramatics are vocal and thus require use of the performers voice or tongue to complete; some are strenuous with specific physical requirements (or blocked by certain afflictions of the body). Most demand "breath" by dint of the rigorously demanding actions - in the same way running around the land causes breathlessness, eventually building to stumbling. The dramatist must husband his or her resources else the performance will end prematurely.
