Experiences, Deeds, Quests, and Feats combine to create a complex and unique "mosaic" of your life and past. Each of these has a type (see below). The sum of those encountered or experienced give a reflection of your outlook, your preferences, your strengths and - sometimes - fears or antipathies. This "mosaic" is used to gauge your progress in Avalon - in a sense - from junior graduate to, who knows, future paradigm...
Every player from the point of graduation begins building a mosaic chronicle - CHAPTER by CHAPTER - each CHAPTER a selective list - type appropriate - of a dozen tasks to experience, accomplishments to complete, abilities to use or master, events to witness. Do all the list and you complete the chapter. Each CHAPTER completion evolves your individual mosaic and this progresses your character to the next chapter and eventually to a completed chronicle. Complete the mosaic chronicle and you will have proven your brilliance - you will have attained one of the greatest feats in Avalon: becoming a LEGEND of your generation.
The mix and blend of your mosaic and the route of your path to LEGEND is important. It will match your outlook and character choices. The "type" of experiences listed in your chapter tasks or indeed those you may do by the mere daily life in Avalon: these define not only the colours of your mosaic but the future chapters of your mosaic chronicle, i..e. what you are asked to do, to complete each chapter of your growing legend. HELP LEGEND documents this.
So when you see the "mosaic" referred to in help or by players, it means - in short - the sum of all past experiences, significant acts, deeds, material choices, achievements and impression on the land. The "mosaic" can be represented like a three-dimensional shape made of thousands of points of coloured light, each one with brightness according to its significance, coloured by type (there are 24) and placed by when it happened to be lit up by something you did or something that happened to you. Everyone in Avalon has a unique mosaic. No two have ever been the same; not even two apprentices in the same guild, let alone two senior players well on their way to establishing their LEGEND. There are 600,000 points by colour in the mosaic. LEGEND is gained by completing the chapters of your mosaic chronicle, each one different according to the player's individual choices and past. Each experience, deed or feat, while a blend of many "types", will always place in the type category most representative or foremost in that blend. This means every experience, deed or feat can be thought of as being part of one type - categorised by one of the following types:
