Players have four "stature" ratings, based on an overall assessment aggregate of their rank and influence in city, guild, divine order and homeland. The homeland stature is an average of the three. Guild-rank is documented in HELP GUILDRANK and the most important of the ratings, city stature, is often also known as "stature" on its own.
Stature should not be confused with your Avalon standing (see HELP STANDING) as while stature is almost entirely built up from positions you hold and ranks you have gained - thus is able to go up and down - your "standing" is a progression over the entirety of your Avalon life, starting at newborn novice and potentially reaching as high as paradigm or legend. It is not possible to go backwards in standing level.
Below alongside the stature rating number (e..g. -2-) is a short description of the basic standards perquisite for each of the seven "overall stature" echelons as revealed when you type CITIZENS or examine your fellow players:
-0- denotes a young, apprentice or non-involved citizen without nobility or role in the government; or high position in guild or Order hierarchy.
-1- is acquired as soon as a couple of aideships or the upper nobility city-rank is reached; also Guildmasters and Priests cannot have a stature below this.
-2- is a stature minimum for members of the divine priesthood, deputies of non-key ministries, citizen with Deputy Guildmaster or "Elder" guild-rank; noble citizens with high guild or Order position.
-3- is the minimum stature of citizens with baronial position, likewise Ministe
rs never rate below the third echelon; deputies of key ministerial positions also cannot go below this stature.
-4- is the natural minimum for the key ministerial positions (Foreign and Justice Ministers) and deputies of the State Minister and Chancellor; likewise citizens with baronial position and ministerial appointment and professional paradigms.
-5- and above are the "stature" echelons of city leadership - those guiding the destiny of all their fellows: Chancellor, State Minister, Prime Minister and those holding both baronial seat and key ministries or multiple deputy-ministerial rank.
-6- is the minimum stature of the Cardinal; it is afforded baronial seat-holders of Prime Ministerial, State Minister and Chancellor rank; also gained by paradigms also possessing high office.
-7- echelon "stature" is the minimum acquired - by default - by the citizen oathed and crowned Prince; by those holding Guardian or Avalonian honours (as permanent historical figures).
Each Avalon decade wearing the Princely crown gives a permanent point of stature to the individual. This benefit is also felt every twenty Avalon years by the Cardinal and Prime Minister and every thirty Avalon years by Ministers or baronial seat-holders (no need for the position to be the same throughout; merely the consistency of high office held). There is no need to refer to stature above the seventh echelon.
