There are a number of holy constructions (per HELP CONSTRUCTION and HELP BUILDINGS) and these are the foundation locations for unique-description "temples" honouring the divinities. Typically the construction of the holy buildings are undertaken by followers or in combination with city/guild support (be that just permission or tangible commodity and gold contributions). Once constructed, the holy building may be evolved by the deity into something unique - constrained only by the number of locations and certain divine attributes inherent in the SHRINE, CHAPEL, TEMPLE, CATHEDRAL or MONASTERY freshly erected.
The unique temple descriptions and further divinely-inspired attributes can only occur once construction is complete and marking festivals have been carried out in all of the newly erected locations. SHRINE, most basic at ONE location, cheapest and least commodity-demanding of holy erections.
It has no restrictions on whereabouts save the authority of the one in charge of CONSTRUCT command issuing and requires 250,000 gold, coins. Commodities required: 300 Wood, 200 Marble, 200 Gold, 200 Silver, 100 Yarriol, 50 Rose, 50 Silk, 50 Bronze.
CHAPEL of TWO locations, smallest of the "under cover" places of worship.
The chapel is a relatively minor affair with few restrictions on whereabouts, requiring 500,000 gold, coins. Commodities required: 500 Wood, 500 Marble, 500 Gold, 500 Silver, 200 Yarriol, 80 Rose, 100 Silk, 200 Bronze, 50 Glass, 20 Essences, 50 Iron.
TEMPLE of FOUR locations, generally the focal point of a divine order within a city or large town
It is restricted in whereabouts of construction to suitable surroundings, costs a million pieces of gold. Commodities required: 900 Wood, 800 Marble, 1000 Gold, 400 Silk, 400 Yarriol, 200 Rose, 1000 Bronze, 800 Silver, 100 Clay, 50 Leather, 100 Iron, 100 Glass, 200 Essences, 300 Dyes.
CATHEDRAL boasts ELEVEN locations and is a major undertaking by any religious order or civic authority.
It represents a great monument to the divinity to whom it is dedicated and provides various special features for the Order and the holy priesthood. It costs just under four million gold. Commodities required: 3800 Wood, 2100 Marble, 1500 Gold, 2200 Silver, 400 Rose, 2000 Bronze, 1750 Yarriol, 300 Oil, 2000 Silk, 800 Clay, 100 Leather, 300 Essences, 500 Glass, 400 Dyes, 2000 Iron.
The FIFTEEN locations of the MONASTERY construction is the largest and most diversely empowered of the holy buildings.
It costs five million gold coins and is an indelible statement of allegience, respect and loyalty to the deity to whom it is devoted. The monastery contains special areas for the Order, the Priesthood and festival, obeisance and sacrificial ceremonies. Commodities required: 5000 Wood, 2500 Marble, 2000 Gold, 3000 Silver, 500 Rose, 3000 Bronze, 2000 Yarriol, 200 Oil, 3000 Silk, 500 Clay, 250 Leather, 500 Essences, 400 Glass, 300 Dyes, 3000 Iron.
