Gniblik was one of the first generation of Avalon players and he was a feared killer in previous incarnations (in other realms). He made his name in Avalon by becoming the first merchant, buying the first house from the Mercinae estate agent and renovating it from a "disgusting hovel" into a "room with bay window". Gniblik's fine pattoir convinced Alodar the property whose door opens onto Beggars Way was in fact a Royal Walk house because it was on the corner. Assuring Alodar he would be able to change the door to the Walk and block out the entrance from Beggars Way, the sale was secured - the first virtual currency transaction between two players - with Gniblik earning over 4000 gold profit. He promptly banked his coin; this transaction causing Mercinae to open the royal bank on Sage Way inviting Gniblik to become its first depositor.
