Screenreaders and Sight-Impaired / Low-density Text for Avalon

The following recommendations are for players using screenreaders or who require low-density text, as on mobile devices. We have seen a significant rise in players with this requirement and encourage suggestions and discussion of alternatives.

Anecdotally, Avalon has seen that players using JAWS for their screenreader have had the most success in the past, due to its clarity at the highest possible speech rates. This trend may have changed and you are encouraged to find what works for you, first and foremost.

Commands to configure text output

ANSI OFF: when using ANSI OFF, the game will subtly change its output for warfare and in miscellaneous helpful ways

PROMPT HELP: your prompt can be modified to include pieces of information such as exits, area, your armourform, whatever else. It's easily expanded by sending Avalon your suggestions.

BATTLEMODE, CONCENTRATE, FVB, BRIEF: everyone in combat is recommended to reduce their text using CONCENTRATE, FVB, BRIEF.

Commands with accessibility / brief output

QW, BW: list active players by core name

EYE: finding players in your location, received in Perception, Respected+50%

IH: finding items in your location

II: finding items in your inventory

IW: finding items within other items

LOCALE HERE: for warfare output of current location
