28.2 Current info on the divine emerald.

The Divine Emerald Quest

The emerald quest traditionally involves the 'golden eggs' - symbols of creation of life and the domain of Aldaron, the god of life. It begins at 8pm on Saturday evening and will continue for TWELVE HOURS to conclude at 8am on Sunday morning - by the Avalon clock, shown when you type TIME.

The rules are quite simple and there are two components: first you must find tiny golden eggs from around the land, as they are regularly but gradually placed all around the world. You may also at times use the egg dispensers you will find brought into being across the continent. Secondly you must gather as many points as possible in the 'eggmelee' - a non-violent but fun and challenging competition tossing eggs at your fellow competitors, gaining points for each true hit, points depending on the prior egg hits achieved by the person your projectile clonks.

Type HELP EGGQUEST for detailed information on the commands for handling these eggmelee eggs and for reviewing league tables, worth of possible targets, timings and the like. If there is time we may run an egg and spoon race, see HELP EGGSPOON for details. This will depend on other gemquests and the state-of-play of the participants.

At the end of the emerald quest, your 'eggmelee' points and your egg collection will be tallied - and the winner will be the individual with the most 'eggpoints'. There will be no resorting to violence in this quest. Any use of fatal force will result in immediate penalty. This quest is a celebration of knowledge of the land, of the joie de vivre of the chase and the game, of Life in all its myriad forms.
