10.29 Containers: hold and transport liquids or substances.
Sometimes you will find it important to carry liquids or other such 'difficult-to-hold' objects about with you, e.g. if you wished to imbibe a herb requiring water to drink it down, or if you needed to transport a stack of sand for use in construction. To do so it is likely you will use a container, like a goblet or a bucket.
Syntax: FILL <container> WITH <liquid/substance> [<pace of filling>]
This is the main command used for filling containers with liquids or other suitable substances. Ideally you should be holding the container, and have the liquid/substance in front of you - in your location - and you should avoid confusing your mixtures else you may spoil the usefulness of the liquid/substance. Remember that rivers and lakes are a great source of almost inexhaustible freshwater; beaches likewise for sand. Filling a container takes time and it will often require many iterations to fully fill your container, especially if it is something larger like a bucket. You have the option of specifying a pace of filling: CAREFULLY, QUICKLY, SLOWLY and FRANTICALLY being the options. Some examples of this command: FILL BUCKET WITH SAND QUICKLY, FILL GOBLET WITH WINE SLOWLY, FILL PAN WITH WATER.
Syntax: POUR <container>/<liquid or substance> [<pace of pouring>]
Should you wish to empty your container you would use the POUR command. You can either specify the container from which to pour - the most specific and accurate way since you can designate an item by number to be absolutely sure you are emptying the correct object - or you may specify the liquid/substance to pour, in which case your inventory is searched for a container filled with that liquid or substance and your pouring will begin. The pouring will continue until your container is empty, or you interrupt it, or you type CEASE. You can determine the speed of your pouring, optionally, by including a pace of pouring: CAREFULLY, QUICKLY, SLOWLY or FRANTICALLY. Here, some examples: POUR WATER QUICKLY, POUR BUCKET SLOWLY, POUR OIL.
See HELP WAGONS, HELP BREWING, HELP BUCKETS for related helpfiles documenting larger containers, using containers for herbal brews, and the usefulness of the multi-purpose bucket respectively.
