The Knight is a physical combatant. He or she is concerned with the study of physical prowess (weapons, melee, swordplay, endurance) rather than over the airy magical realms. Consider the Knight profession if you are fast, quick-witted or aggressive, but keen to keep simple and effective. They are strong in combat both offensively and defensively though rely on good maintenance of weapons, armour and equipment.
The Knights Guild is based in the city of Mercinae, and they are the oldest guild in Avalon. They align themselves firmly behind the forces of justice and light (led, traditionally, by the King of Mercinae). Members of the Knights Guild are expected to uphold honour and the chivalric code against all adversity. They are bound by notions of altruism and defence of the poor and weak. The Knights Guild has been a bastion against the onset of evil for centuries and anybody considering joining their ranks must have a stout heart, an iron will and a keen blade.

The Knights Guild was formed 800 years after the divine war by Sir Zaphod and is the oldest guild in Avalon. It is located in Mercinae, the City of Light, and patroned by Apollo, the God of Light.
Those who seek the profession of a knight are sworn to live by a code of chivalry. In doing so the knight strives to incorporate into his or her daily life the virtues of Prowess, Courage, Valour, Justice, Honour, Loyalty, Humility, and Nobility.
A knight seeks to master the skills of Chivalry, Endurance, Weaponry, and Warcraft. They put these skills to use by showing martial prowess on the battlefield, upholding justice and light, and defending the innocent from the dark evils of the land. They become proficient in the ways of melee combat, crafting and maintaining fine weapons and armour, and the use of various poisons found throughout the land.
The path of a knight is neither short nor easy. They live by the Chivalric Code and dedicate their lives to defending these ideals, by forging the body and mind anew. It is not the profession for those who seek ruthless slaughter and care not for the ways of light.
Those who are willing to lead this life and defend the City of Light may find the guild house in Mercinae at the southern end of Royal Walk and apply within.
