In the light of recent events, here is my considered opinion on the subject. As someone who has been playing Avalon for upwards of three years, and who has been a highpriest, and a god, this is my PERSONAL opinion.

As far as I am concerned anybody who has the power to give out divine favour/disfavour should excercise extreme care with this great power. It should not be used offensively as an aid to combat, and neither should be used as a reward for doing menial tasks in real life. The role of divine favour/disfavour, as I see it, is to reward or punish people who please a god or transgress against them or their order. Stealing holy artefacts is such a transgression. Slagging off a god is also such a transgression. Being a follower of a god who gives your mate disfavour is most assuredly NOT.
