The main addition for Barons is that cities now have trade links with all of the other villages, towns and cities - and the game-controlled villages are friendly towards you. See HELP TRADE BID for information about bidding for exclusive trading rights with a village. Also, trading caravans should be able to sell goods, see TRADE TYPE and TRADE FILL for information on that.
