In advance of the full writeup (which will appear within the next day or two):
The quest for the Divine Onyx was held last night over a seven hour marathon of sands quests with various rules, various teams and a broad spectrum of players from all areas of the land.
The four finalists were Droxon, Agarwain, Laramyn and Charlamane who competed in a twenty minute final battle over two of the sands of time. Despite a shaky start, Agarwain and Droxon were both able to seize a sand and endure frantically as time slowly dripped away.
In the final minute, as points looked to be almost perfectly equal between the two lead-competitors, Agarwain struck a hammer-blow against his city mate Charlamane, killing him twice and scoring enough points to pull himself into the lead. As time expired, Agarwain stood victorious over Droxon by an impossibly slim margin of just thirty points.
Let me be the first to congratulate Agarwain, commiserate Droxon for an incredible near-miss and say well done to all who participated in what was a very high quality, thrilling quest.
Look out for the Cornelian and Ruby gem quests over the summer.
