I think we all agree that a desire for a vibrant, competitive, and populated realm trumps any individual or city goals. That being the case, if a returnee is not prepared for a fight and not looking for a fight, it behooves us all to not antagonize said returnee. Even, in fact, to aid them, city ties aside.
What's more important, showing your bloodthirsty nature and scoring a cheap kill on a totally unprepared person who is probably on the fence about playing, or ensuring that Avalon remains an active, dynamic, and heavily populated world for years to come?
Please note I know nothing of the incidents sparking this thread. But I think we all owe it to ourselves, our Gods, and the Realm to do what we can to encourage ALL new players (whether brand new or returned) to stick around.
