Dear Clara,

I did not deny all knowledge of said actions. I knew that my citizens were marching, and I knew that they were looking to take Bedillam. However, I did not realise they had achieved quite as much SOI as they did (although it should be noted that there was the opportunity to take far more than they did, whilst the land was so quiet, as was Parrius).

I wish to make it very clear that Mercinae does not wish to declare a state of war on Parrius and that this was not intended to be an attack, either on the city, nor on yourself, personally.

We simply saw the opportunity to keep our city afloat. I put my trust in my Ministers to do what they feel is right for the city and they are chosen for that very reason. However, ultimately, I am the Princess of Mercinae and it is with me that the responsibility lies, not with them. I will be more than happy to discuss this with you outside of the public domain.
