I think that previous answers say most of what is to be said on this subject. However, I would like to draw your attention to the following, extracted from the helpfile , which all LWs are encouraged to read.

The 'game' is founded on conflict and co-operation, its aim to be a forum for emotional clashes between bitter enemies, and alliances between beloved friends. A land of heroism and villainy, not a sugary safe environment for easy progress and emotionless character building.

Whatever path one takes in Avalon, pacifist, duelist or otherwise, it is not designed to be easy. The lands will test your strength of character in a number of ways.

I wanted to answer you, because I KNOW it can be disheartening and I wanted to encourage you not to give up and to keep on going. Remember that these same Truefighters you describe have gone through the same experiences and have never given up, which is why they are where they are now. If you stick with it,then one day I am sure you will join their ranks. And hey, at the end of the day, who doesn't enjoy a nice boat-ride?
