Fact 1: Forest plants are dying to rootrot and overgrowth. Certain varieties *need* to be clearpicked on occasion to save the others.
Fact 2: Rare plants such as resik, lestagii and phoroz are indeed being clearpicked.
Fact 3: As long as there is at least 2 plants left in a particular bed and it has been replanted, it will grow back at a healthy rate. Picking to 25 or 10 or 5 has no more effect on growth than picking to 2.
Fact 4: The 25-count rule was one the Animists made for *themselves* nearly 2 centuries ago to prevent their guildmembers from picking themselves silly and leave enough for those of us that pick for survival, not for profit.
Fact 5: Knights with picking skill cannot replant. Any beds they pick from will stop producing.
Fact 6: Beds that have been clearpicked will eventually bloom again. However, this time is one year or more as opposed to sprouting nearly everyday when properly picked and replanted.
Take this information and do with it as you please.
Nekkidly yours, Aja
PS: On a personal note, I agree that pacifists should not be allowed to pick poisons. I also feel that knights should either have the ability to replant or have their picking skill removed.
