You may take it with a grain of salt if you like, but my post was actually
intended as benevolent advice to Mercinae. Yes, city alliances will
always exist in one form or another. My point is that Mercinae always
goes beyond strategic alliances and seeks intermarriage. The
conflicting city and guild loyalties that have prevented Mercinae from
signing a treaty is a case in point. Frankly, I hope Mercinae continues
her course, as it is a never-ending source of amusement to us.
As for our having bitten off more than we can chew, I can only say we
look forward to the end of the Godly protection from invasion that
Springdale currently enjoys. As you well know, we Thakrians have big
mouths. As such, our capacity to chew is unrivaled.
