Awhile ago, I started a Community Chest. It was intended to be a vehicle for benevolent older players to help the less experienced. In the beginning it was a tenuous affair at best. (See public 14216!)
However, I have received help from a large number of people. On my return after a few weeks offline, I was agreeably surprised to discover my Community Chest still alive and better than ever.
Those individuals who helped pick up the slack know who they are, and I want them to know that I am grateful. I am especially obliged to Castigere, the God of Justice, who altered the original format of the Community Chest to make it more secure.
Those of you who have been afraid to add to the Chest to this point, thinking that you would only be supporting thieves, I urge you to check it out. Only new players are now able to use the community chest. (Cross my heart and hope to die.)
For those who don't know, the Avalon Community Chest is located in the ruined homestead, several norths and one west from the Meeting place in the greenwood. I encourage older players to donate clothing and simple (nonweapon) equipment there.
I also encourage younger players to take advantage of the opportunity of a free head-start. Don't worry -- in a few weeks you'll be successful enough to give back much more than you took.
I hope to see a lot of activity at the Community Chest! --- Adelwyn, apprentice healer
