It seems that lag to Avalon has become rather bad of late. We're unsure whether this something within our power to do anything about - so if possible, any of you who know how to use TRACEROUTE or PING from your various locations around the world could help us here. Run traceroutes and pings from your locations at various times of the day and send the results to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. From these, we'll be able to tell whether it's Avalon, Avalon's internet provider, Avalon's internet provider's backbone, or lag beyond our reach. Hopefully it'll be one of the first three and we'll be able to act accordingly.
