15.26 The Guild of Necromancers.

The noble Necromancer has long been shrouded in mystery and secrecy. Disappeared from the lands for many a year, the recently reborn enclave of demonologists practice their dark arts in the defence of freedom, neutrality, and the eastern bastion of both ideals, Parrius, and as such, the only loyalty the guild demands is to the city, be it justice or be it warfare. Neutrality, hedonism and self-reliance are the main guild philosophies - we are dark in bent, but not of pure evil.

Necromancers are versed in the Dark Arts of Evocation and Demonology, with Stealth and Charming, making them cunning, mobile damage machines, able to swoop down on unsuspecting foes to wreak havoc and steal souls. Our skills revolve around the mastery of entourages of demons, taming and bending otherworldly spirits to do our dark bidding, and ultimately, those who show an inhuman dedication to their studies and apply themselves above and beyond to the understanding and application of these skills can a
ttain the rare and powerful art of Necromancy itself, becoming an undead and sloughing off the limitations and fetters of their human form.

The Necromancers are a close-knit coven of individuals who are self-motivated intellectuals but who can and do often band together to defend their citymates from those who would do them harm. While most often a surreptitious and solo killer, the Necromancer's offensive might is often a pivotal factor in turning the tides in a group brawl or in providing a chaotic cover for those engaging in subterfuge or warfare.

Those choosing to seek study of the Necromantic arts in Parrius are not those seeking purely to do mindless evil, or to wreak havoc and destruction in an uncontrolled manner - this group is wholly individualistic, intellectually driven and dedicated to the study of further applications of Dark Arts.
