26.26 List of Divine Gem Holders and Contenders for God.

There are fifteen divine gems, fourteen of which bestow great powers on their owner, the power varying from gem to gem. The fifteenth gem (the amethyst) transforms a mortal form into a god. Read up on other sections on the gems and gem quests if you wish to know more. See HELP SCHEDULE for a regularly updated list of events in the land, often forthcoming gemquests. All mortals who hold any of the fourteen lesser gems will be entitled to contend for ordination, for the amethyst (see HELP AMETHYST. Note: HELP EVENTS should also be perused for a broader list of forthcoming events including but not limited to a summary of gem-quests.

No mortal in Avalon has yet to win one of the divine gems.
The fifteen divine gems are the most sacred of Avalonian relics. They possess extra-ordinary powers which are bestowed on those skilled enough to win them in deity-led quests. The fifteenth gem, the amethyst of time, can transform a mortal into a God.

Often the pantheon restrict mortals to annual use of just a single divine gem, for it is not uncommon for dominant high-rankers to pursue and achieve multiple gemquest victories. In this case the mortal with many gems must make their year-long choice after every New Year by typing GEM followed by the gem type; GEM DIAMOND for instance, and the diamond alone will be at their disposal for the period.
