The Sorcerers

The Sorcerers Guild is the purest evil, founded to dominate and pillage. Its members train quickly in battle and the ways of death. It is Thakria's most loyal and proudest guild.

Founded on the 30th of Agamnion 835 by Trekker, the Sorcerers are located in Central West Thakria. They have the profession of Sorcerer and the guild alignment is Evil. The guild patron is Ashvani.

Introduction:

Those who choose to follow the profession of the Sorcerer are making a powerful, life-long choice. They are choosing personal ambition, domination of others, strength through routing of their enemies, and confrontation as the ideals of their lives. The Sorcerer offers no quarter and dispatches his enemy with ruthless precision. Often the Sorcerer is a sadist, delighting in the misfortunes and deaths of his enemies. However, there is another side to the coin. Sorcerers are hated by all but their own ranks. They are feared and often the target for attack from the righteous and good. Though it is said that the life of a Sorcerer is never a dull one, you should avoid this profession unless you are entirely sure that you wish to live such a selfish, evil life.

Words of Trekker, first guildmaster:

The Sorcerers are a loner breed, reliant on their own defiant souls to weather the sea of infidels, learn to utilise the great sorcerous arts and carve a path of mayhem through the land. It is no place for the weak or faint-hearted.

Athenia (3yr), current guildmaster says the following about the guild:

"There are three things a Sorcerer understands. The first is that power stands above all else. The second is that knowledge is power... And the third is that when the first two are dangled just out of reach, your hunger for them becomes unbearable..."

-Count Bezejeth, in a lecture to Jammond

During the days of the now-legendary Trekker, the Sorcerer's guild was the first guild to be erected in the resurgent city of Thakria. It was the beginning of an age and era filled with bloodshed, sadism, cruelty, and unrelenting battles between those who lusted for Power, and those who sought to thwart them.

Arrogant to the core, a Master Sorcerer stands as one of the most definitive figures in the land, and the guild as a whole partakes of this reputation. Independent souls, one and all, Sorcerers tend to scorn aid from most sources and pursue perfection and knowledge alone or with only a small handful of close associates.

The incredible lust for greater power, and the continual pursuit of it has caused the Sorcerers to be viewed as evil creatures, and many Sorcerers would admit to this whole-heartedly. Yet... It is not uncommon for a Sorcerer to have his own set of morals and a law of his own that he adheres to rigidly and enforces (or attempts to enforce) on all of Avalon

It is not a guild for the faint of heart, for the true Masters of Sorcery know that every power comes with a price, and a Sorcerer's power is vast...
